No downtime! After treatment, you can resume your daily activities without any downtime. Generally, on the day of treatment, it is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, spas, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools. You can carry out your daily activities without any problems. For long-term skin care, it is generally recommended to avoid smoking, sun exposure, and tanning beds, apply moisturizer and sunscreen three times a day, maintain a diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins, and stay properly hydrated daily. During your first appointment, we will take your complete medical history and discuss any medications or supplements you are currently taking, as some of these can make your skin more prone to bruising. We will also review any other cosmetic treatments you have had previously to understand the overall condition of your skin.

You do NOT need general anesthesia or sedation for Ultherapy! At our Ultherapy Center, we follow the recommendations of the Ultherapy manufacturer and international scientific authorities. For this reason, we will prepare you an hour beforehand with topical anesthetic cream on the areas to be treated and prescribe pain medication to ensure a very comfortable treatment. During the procedure, as the ultrasound energy is applied, you will feel a sensation of warmth corresponding to small amounts of energy precisely deposited in the dermis and the deep layer of the skin (superficial musculoaponeurotic system or SMAS). These layers contain the fibers that we stimulate to produce your own collagen. Most patients report that the discomfort felt on the skin is comparable to that of laser hair removal or intense pulsed light (IPL) or laser treatment. Discomfort levels vary from person to person, but it only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being applied. Remember that at our Ultherapy Center, we do not delegate this treatment to other staff members, and your treatment will be performed exclusively by our specialist physicians. IMPORTANT: It is not true that without sedation, the treatment will not be effective, since through the exact visualization of the ultrasound and the expertise of the person performing the treatment, the layers where YOUR COLLAGEN will be precisely stimulated are reached.

Regarding results, initially, during the first month, you will notice a slight toning and increased firmness of the skin, which will become more evident over time, as the process of new collagen formation in all the inner layers of the skin takes approximately 3 to 4 months. The overall results are skin toning and firming, a slight to moderate eyebrow lift, improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and a smoother, more even skin texture.

Most patients require only one treatment per year. You may experience some skin redness immediately after the treatment, but this will subside within a few hours. Some patients experience mild swelling, bruising, tingling, and tenderness, but these symptoms are temporary. Other less common post-procedure effects may include mild numbness in small areas of the skin.
